Description

Live In or Live Out Nanny required for lively, fun loving family with 2 girls aged 6 and 4 and boy aged 8.  There is also a full time housekeeper employed. This role is a mixture of sole and shared charge.

About the Family and Children:

The family lives in a beautiful country home with lovely gardens (including an organic vegetable garden) and a heated swimming pool.

The house is situated on the edge of a picturesque village in the Ryedale Area of Yorkshire.  The village benefits from a shop, bakery, and a pub, just a 40-minute drive from York station, making London easily accessible (only 1hour 50 mins to Kings Cross). Beautiful walks, the North York Moors, the coast, and Castle Howard are all within easy reach.

The family also have a house in London (Holland Park).

This is a warm, loving family with three energetic and engaging children.  The children have varied interests including science, nature, art, ponies, pets, and swimming. They love jokes, pretend play, and playing with their friends. The family enjoys spending time outdoors.

Pets include a dog, two guinea pigs and two ponies which are kept in the next-door village.

The family also employs a gardener and full-time housekeeper.

Both parents are self-employed, hence there is some flexibility with the nannies’ working hours.

Expectations and Duties:

The right candidate should be energetic and active and revel in the prospect of being in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside.  Ideally with some experience handling horses (even at a very basic level would be helpful). But not essential.

The candidate will be capable of creating a stimulating and nurturing environment for the children by creating fun, engaging, and educational activities.

A nanny with a good sense of humour would be a great fit.  But at the same time possess the ability to maintain a professional demeanour with impeccable discretion and confidentiality at all times are a must.

The ideal candidate would also be able to prepare delicious and nutritious meals to ensure a healthy and varied diet for the children.

Travel Opportunities: Travel with the family to Europe (one week per year) and a winter sun holiday (e.g.the Bahamas). Skiing trips are also offered, though joining is not essential. The family also spends 1-2 weeks spread over the year in London (Holland Park).

The nanny must hold a full, clean UK driving licence.

Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 6.30pm. Working a maximum of one weekend per month will be necessary, with equivalent time off during the week.

Annual Leave: 28 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays (with some flexibility). One proxy overnight stay per week may be required.

Accommodation: A private separate cottage next to the house  comprising a bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen.

Car provided for school run duties and sole use. A car for full use is also a possibility.

Salary: £60,000 gross per annum (Neg for right candidate)

CPD Budget: £170 yearly CPD budget to support professional development.

Start Date: End February/March.

Additional Perks: Enjoy the beautiful garden, heated swimming pool, use of the vegetable garden and greenhouse.  The family are aware that North Yorkshire might be a daunting prospect for some candidates, therefore, to recruit the best candidate for the position, they are open to discussing some kind of arrangement that might make travel easier at weekend, if this is something that is required. The family will consider an early finish on a Friday for the same reason.
